Bicycle: 1998 Custom Specialized Crossroads A1 Expert

In 2012, I purchased this hybrid used on Craig's list to test out the ride quality. It was definitely faster than the folding mountain bike and I made two round trips from Queens to Manhattan on this bicycle without any issues. However, I upgraded Cantilever brakes to V-brakes which turned out to be lethal. The V-brakes would grab and lock the wheel(s). As a result of using only the front brake, I managed to flip over twice during a routine route on this bike causing a small crack near the steering tube. I concluded that hybrids are not my thing and salvaged the parts for the next project.
